Happy Mother’s Day from the Classical Conversations family to yours. As home educators, we know that the family is key to building strong relationships. One of the support pillars to the family is the mother. Without their tender love for each child and tiger ferocity to protect the family, many families would not be the same. Mother’s Day should remind us of this quote by C.S. Lewis, “The homemaker has the ultimate career. All other careers exist for one purpose only – and that is to support the ultimate career.”
In this video, Classical Conversations CEO Robert Bortins shares two of his favorite quotes from Scripture. The first is Proverbs 31: 26-29, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children 
rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ’Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’”
The second is John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”
Every homeschool mother has fulfilled these three quotes. You have momentarily given up on the careers you could have had for the ultimate career of pouring into your children. You became the words of wisdom and acts of kindness. You gave up your future aspirations for children who didn’t exist and gave up your present aspirations for those whom you wanted to love more.
